On Wednesday, 15th January, 2025, the Department of Accounting under Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), organized an enriching event titled "Meet the Alumni" at Media studio. The event aimed to bridge the gap between current students and successful graduates, offering valuable insights into the professional world. Three esteemed alumni from the AIUB were invited to share their experiences and provide guidance to the students.
The distinguished speakers of the event were Kazi Shafayet Ahmed, Assistant Manager, Retail Business, LankaBangla Finance PLC. and Mehnaz Huq, Financial Data Examiner, CodeCrafters International Ltd. Both speakers are graduates of the Faculty of Business Administration and have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements. The event was further enriched by the participation of Mr. Khondoker Al Nahian Bin Jahir who is the Chief Executive Officer of Smart Field Services. Mr. Nahian is a Computer Science graduate of AIUB.
The event featured an interactive question-and-answer session, where faculty members engaged the alumni with key questions about their career paths and journeys since leaving AIUB. Throughout the session, the alumni reflected on their time at AIUB and how it shaped their professional careers. They shared their transition from university to the real world, offering practical advice and motivational stories. They discussed various strategies, techniques, and challenges they faced in their careers and how they overcame them, providing inspiration and valuable lessons to the students. Both FBA alumni, who were active members of the AIUB Business Club, shared how their involvement in club activities significantly contributed to their personal and professional growth. They encouraged current students to engage in similar extracurricular activities, highlighting how such experiences help build leadership skills, expand networks, and shape future career paths.
The event was a significant opportunity for students to gain insights into the working world and to understand how their education at AIUB could be applied in real-world scenarios. The event's context addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG-4 (Quality Education). This program was coordinated and hosted by Saeeda Tajrian, Lecture, Department of Accounting, Tasnia Shahrin Khan, lecturer, Department of Accounting and Sazia Afrin, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting. Overall, the program was supervised and directed by Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Professor and Head of Accounting department who commenced the program with a warm welcome speech. At the end of the session, Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director [MBA and EMBA Program] gave vote of thanks to the esteemed guests for conducting the event successfully.
Finally, Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director (BBA program) concluded the program with inspiring remarks and presented the key speakers with certificates and token gifts.
The event was a great success, fostering strong connections between students and alumni, and reinforcing the sense of community within the Faculty of Business Administration.
