The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB, arranged a Study Tour to Savoy Ice Cream Factory Limited – A Concern of Golden Group, located at Sonargaon, Narayanganj, on August 28, 2025. As a part of the regular student development program under the industry-academia collaboration, BBA Marketing specialization students from the courses of ‘Sales Management’ and ‘Product Innovation and Management’ went on to visit the factory to get practical insights about the Factory Operations, Production Processes, Quality Control, and Storage & Shipment Procedures of Savoy Ice Cream in the local market.
Upon arrival at the factory premises, the visiting team from AIUB was welcomed and briefed on the factory operations, company establishments, product offerings, brand marketing, supply chain, and health & safety protocols by Mr. Eshan Shabuktageen, Senior Brand Executive, Marketing, and Mr. Md. Emdadul Haque, Director, Factory Administration & Engineering. After the formal briefing, the students were taken to visit the Production Plants. Mr. Subrata Saha and Mr. Md. Salman Hossain Sagar, Executives, Admin (Factory), accompanied the students and briefed them about the total manufacturing processes, including the Mixing Unit, Pasteurization & Reserve Tank Unit, Filling Unit, and Chocolate Processing Unit of various ice cream lines, such as Cones, Cups, Sticks, and Liter Boxes.
The students have also been briefed about the storage functions, highlighting the preservation system for ice creams and on the outbound shipment arrangements, which included special transport to deliver the Ice Creams to various Depots, Dealer Points, and Retail Stores located throughout the country. Upon completing the Factory Visit, an informative & fun quiz was organized for the visiting students, where the winners had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Spin the Wheel’ game to win attractive bundles of ice cream as prizes. The factory management offered Discone Cone, Shahi Kheer Cup, Vanilla Cup, Ekdom Aam, and other product offerings to the visiting team.
The objective of this factory visit is aligned with the key United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of “Quality Education.” The focus of the Department of Marketing, THM, and IB on organizing this type of study visit reflects AIUB's commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to nurturing future professionals in the marketing domain.
