Manufacturing Industrial Tour Department of Operations Management-AIUB

Visit to observe the production operations in the industry sector is a relevant and enrichment activity of the business education. It is a vital part of the curriculum of this department. On 23rd October 2008, the Department of Operation Management undertook a study trip to the Intersoft Textile and Garment Processing Industry at Shafipure, Gazi pure. Students observed very closely the production planning procedure, inventory system, supply chain, production operation, work measurement procedure, environment control, energy and industrial resources optimization. In addition, they observed the process of transforming of input to higher value added products. The management briefed the students and actively interacted with the officers who were giving the orientation. It was a good learning experience for the students to see the actual management operation. The education trip was under the guidance of Prof. Dr.M.Shahidul Islam, Dr. AKM Matiur Rahman, Mr. Hassan Maksud Chowdhury and Mr. R. Tareque Moudud.
