Reinforcing its commitment to advancing research excellence and scholarly publication, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) organized a full-day faculty development workshop titled “Research Design for Business: The Complete Research Arc” on July 16, 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Khan Md Raziuddin Taufique of Oxford Brookes University, who guided participants through the complete research journey, from developing a research idea to publishing in high-impact academic journals.

The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Professor, Department of Accounting and Director of Graduate Programs (MBA & EMBA). The distinguished speaker was subsequently introduced by Professor Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Professor and Member of the Research & Publication Steering Committee.

The workshop covered key aspects of academic research, including research question formulation, problem framing, identifying research gaps, literature review development, instrument design, data analysis, interpretation of findings, research implications, publication strategies, and research dissemination. The afternoon segment included evaluation and feedback on pre-assigned faculty tasks, followed by a hands-on SPSS laboratory session focusing on practical data analysis techniques and reporting.

As part of the program, faculty members also participated in an interactive Zoom session with Dr. Fazlul Rabbanee, Associate Professor, School of Management and Marketing, Curtin University, Australia. During the session, Dr. Rabbanee shared valuable insights on contemporary research trends, international collaboration opportunities, and strategies for enhancing research visibility and impact in the global academic community.

The success of the event was reflected in the engaging open dialogue sessions between the speakers and faculty members, where participants discussed challenges related to their ongoing research and publication efforts. Dr. Taufique shared practical insights on enhancing research quality and impact through broader international perspectives, the use of global data collection platforms such as Prolific and Qualtrics, data triangulation, expert manuscript reviews, and strategic journal targeting, while encouraging faculty members to consider interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary publication outlets.

Through a combination of expert guidance, collaborative discussions, and hands-on learning, the workshop successfully contributed to enhancing the research capabilities of faculty members and advancing FBA’s vision of academic and scholarly excellence.
