Launching Ceremony & Meet the press: ‘Academia – Technology Alliance’

A launching ceremony and meet the press at Academia – Technology Alliance was held in Dhaka at the Westin Hotel on March 9, 2011 under jointly organized by American International University, DANIDA, Microsoft and Admiral IT. The Honorable Commerce Minister, Govt. of the People ’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Muhammad Faruk Khan MP was present as Chief Guest while His Excellency Honorable Ambassador of Royal Danish Embassy Mr. Svend Olling was the Special Guest in the occasion. The program was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna. Business Development Director of Admiral IT Mr. Frands Sharpe and Microsoft dynamics Business Applications Regional Director SE Asia and Korea Mr. Sandie Overtveld were also spoke on the occasion. The Honorable Minister in his speech highlighted the present Govt. Vision 2021 and materializing the Govt. program on digital Bangladesh. He categorically mentioned that the initiative taken by AIUB, DANIDA, Microsoft and Admiral IT for proposed technical co-operation will surely evolve latest technological development in the relevant sector and will also help to open the door for the personnel of the IT sector. He also requested the Honorable Danish Ambassador to come forward to assist the Bangladesh in various development activities. He also appreciated AIUB’s computer and IT based education program which is very much encouraging for the student of our Country in facing challenges to overcome global Competition. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna in her speech highlighted the educational programs by the AIUB and expected the future development if these co-operation would materialize. In the question and answer session the invited guest were on the opinion that something to be workout for energy sector under these animation education and technical co-operation. The Honorable Treasurer, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Vice President (Academics), Deans, teachers, officers of AIUB, representatives from DANIDA, Microsoft, Admiral IT, and other renowned electronic and print media personnel were also present on the occasion. It may be mentioned here that the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of AIUB will be benefited by these short of program. This will also help the nationwide development activities.
