It took sometime to finalize the preparation of the project proposal to develop and introduce major courses in Marketing, a discipline under the Faculty of Business Administration. The highlight of the agreement is the development of the following major courses: 1) Agro-based Product Marketing 2) Project Innovation and Management. The coverage , activities, mechanics and funding requirements were finalized last month and set the signing of the agreement yesterday, 13 March 2016. The signing was held in the Board Room and witnessed by the honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna. To sign on behalf of the Katalyst was Mr. Markus Ehman, General Manager while Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor signed on behalf of AIUB. Other present during the signing were Mr. Tahsin Akbar and Mr. Injamam Alam both of Katalyst, Dr. Nisar Ahmed and other marketing faculty members of AIUB. It is interesting to note that this partnership of Katalyst with AIUB started when the former provided technical and financial assistance in developing a new course Rural Marketing. The course is well patronized by the students majoring in Marketing. It is expected that with these 2 new courses, the marketing major students will be further enriched and their demand in the job market will be enhanced. It should be noted that AIUB will be the only university to offer these courses sometime in the Fall semester 2016-2017. On the other hand, Katalyst is expected that AIUB students would be able to carry out their capitalization agenda in the curriculum and as agent towards sustainably promoting Katalyst’s experiences in the agro-based sector.
