Professor Farheen Hassan Ph.D., SFHEA, Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration and Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), has contributed to a series of professional development and capacity-building initiatives under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, with support from the World Bank. She has been selected as “National/Local Consultant” for the professional development of the Junior Faculty members of Bangladesh and drafted a module on QA with the guidance from British Council, BD and experts from Advance HE, UK. Professor Hassan also served as a Resource Person for Professional Development Training for lecturers and assistant professors of UGC-affiliated universities. She conducted sessions for the first through fourth batches at Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur, focusing on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum practice, the UGC OBE Curriculum Template, quality assurance and enhancement in higher education, and the transition from compliance-driven approaches to a sustainable quality culture.

As part of the HEAT Project’s Professional Development Programme for Senior Faculty Members, Professor Hassan was selected as a Master Trainer and participated in an intensive residential Training of Trainers (ToT) programme in Cox’s Bazar from 21 June to 1 July 2026. Following successful completion of the programme, she was nominated as a member of the Facilitation Team for the National Trainer Development Programme, serving as Facilitator and Co-facilitator at BRAC Centre for Development Management (BRAC CDM), Khagan, Savar, from 26 July to 4 August 2026. Through these roles, she contributed to the development of National Trainers for future faculty development activities across Bangladesh.

Most recently, Professor Hassan was invited as a Resource Person to the “Vice Chancellors’ Dialogue: Shaping the Future of Higher Education,” organized under the HEAT Project. Held at BRAC CDM, Savar, from 21 to 22 August 2026, the dialogue brought together Vice-Chancellors of public and private universities, distinguished scholars, academics, and eminent resource persons. Professor Hassan moderated Session 4 as a Key Respondent and Expert Discussant. 

Through her roles as Consultant for Junior Faculty Professional Development, Master Trainer, Facilitator, Co-facilitator for Senior Faculty Member Professional development and Resource Person, Professor Hassan has made significant contributions to the HEAT Project’s efforts to strengthen faculty development, academic leadership, quality assurance, and institutional capacity across Bangladesh, further highlighting her continued contribution to shaping the future of higher education in the country.
