INTER-SECTION QUIZ COMPETITION: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING FALL 2015 – 2016

The Department of Accounting has organized an Inter-section Accounting Quiz Competition on 17th December 2015 in the AIUB Auditorium. The main objective of the initiative was “To Recognize and Reward the Best Students in the Class”. Initially, faculties of Financial Accounting courses in the Fall semester of 2015, identified the 2 best students from each section/class. Those selected students from each section participated in the Quiz competition as a team representing their section. The Inter-section Quiz Competition was divided into three rounds. In Round 1, the top 9 sections were selected from 11 sections based on their scores in the first screening test. In Round 2, the best 4 sections were selected based on their scores in the second screening test. Finally, the top 4 groups of Financial Accounting: Sections A, H, A2 and A3 participated in the Grand Finale round. The Inter-section Quiz competition has received overwhelming response from the students as the AIUB Auditorium was filled to its fullest capacity at the Grand Finale. The audience also enthusiastically participated in the special Audience Quiz round and won some attractive prizes. The result of the Grand Finale was: Champion: Section A (Syed Nazmul Alam & Bhuiyan MD Masfiqur Rahman); First Runner-Up: Section A2 (Sakib Hassan & Mohammad Salehin Habib); Second Runner-Up: Section A3 (Mehnaz Rahman Mim & MD Jewel Hossain) and Third Runner-Up: Section H (Tasnuba Kabir & Mehadi Mahmud). The program ended with the faculty members of Accounting Department handing out crests and certificates to all the participants. This initiative has given a great opportunity for best students in the class to take on leadership roles and showcase their talent to others. The Quiz Competition was coordinated by: Ms. Faieza Chowdhury, Mr. Niaz Mohammad, Mr. Rezwanul Mumtahin Husain, and Ms. Shamma Lubaba Purnata, Lecturers of the department taking Financial Accounting course. Mr. Md. Faridul Alam, Assistant Professor of Accounting Department was the Master of Ceremony. The day ended successfully with lively participation of the audience and generous cooperation of the AIUB management.
