The Department of Accounting under the Faculty of Business Administration at American International University–Bangladesh successfully organized the Spring 2025–2026 edition of the quiz competition titled “Inter-departmental Managerial Accounting Quiz Competition” at Annex 3 on 28th April. Building upon the success of the previous semester’s event, this initiative was arranged to further strengthen students’ analytical capabilities and deepen their conceptual understanding of managerial accounting in a dynamic and competitive academic environment. The competition also aimed to encourage critical thinking, prompt decision-making, and the practical application of managerial accounting knowledge in business contexts.

Participants were selected based on their academic performance in the midterm examination. Throughout the competition, students demonstrated their proficiency in managerial accounting principles, analytical techniques, and problem-solving abilities under time-constrained conditions. The event created an intellectually engaging platform that inspired healthy academic competition while enhancing students’ confidence, precision, and decision-making skills.

Sharfin Ruhama secured the Champion position by displaying outstanding subject command, logical clarity, and analytical accuracy. The First Runner-up position was attained by Iktidar Alam, whose performance was marked by consistency and strong analytical insight. Md. Ruknut Jaman Nishad achieved the Second Runner-up position, reflecting notable problem-solving skills and sound conceptual understanding. The competition also acknowledged participants securing the 4th (Masrur Mahin Arnob) and 5th (Ayman Al Razy) positions for their commendable analytical ability and competitive performance.

The award distribution ceremony took place on 5th May, at the AIUB Media Studio. During the ceremony, crests were presented to the winners in recognition of their exceptional performance, while certificates of participation were conferred upon all competitors in appreciation of their enthusiasm, commitment, and active participation.

The chief guest of the ceremony was Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge of the Faculty of Business Administration. Distinguished guests included Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Professor and Director of the MBA Program; Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Professor and Director In-Charge of the BBA Program; Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Professor and Head of the Department of Accounting.

The competition was jointly organized by Ms. Sazia Afrin, Assistant Professor; Ms. Saeeda Tajrian, Lecturer; Mr. Siam Mohammad, Lecturer; of the Department of Accounting, under the overall guidance and supervision of Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Head, Department of Accounting, AIUB.

This initiative once again highlights the Department of Accounting’s dedication to nurturing critical thinking, leadership qualities, and professional readiness among future business graduates, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. The Department also expresses sincere gratitude to the AIUB Management for their continuous support and cooperation in successfully conducting this academic event.
