On Thursday, August 20, 2026, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES), organized an Industrial visit at Basic Power Engineering Ltd., Tongi, Gazipur. A group of 24 students along with two faculty members from Faculty of Engineering (FE), Mr. Rubab Ahmmed (Assistant Professor [EEE], AIUB) & Mr. Osim Kumar Pal (Lecturer [EEE], AIUB), engaged in the visit to learn directly how transformers are manufactured, observe the factory’s production and testing procedures, understand its workplace environment, and explore potential career and internship opportunities in the electrical industry

Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by Mr. Pradip Kumar Paul (Principal, CEO, Basic Power Engineering Ltd.), who coordinated the visit and guided the students through the industrial processes. Brig Gen (Retd) Md. Shamsur Rahman, ndc, psc (CEO, Basic Power Engineering Ltd.), also addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of technical knowledge, discipline, continuous learning, and practical skills for a successful engineering career. The students participated in electrical and mechanical engineering sessions, where they observed transformer winding, core assembly, testing, tank fabrication, machining, assembly and quality inspection. These sessions provided practical insights into transformer manufacturing processes.

The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students discussed technical issues, industrial practices, internship opportunities, and career prospects with the representatives. As a gesture of appreciation, Mr. Rubab Ahmmed & Mr. Osim Kumar Pal presented tokens of gratitude to the factory representatives, followed by a group photograph.
