Inauguration of AIUB-BCB Computer Lab

Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB, in presence of Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder and VP, Student Affairs and Mr. Nizam Uddin Chowhury, CEO, BCB inaugurated the AIUB-BCB Computer Lab at the SAHARA-BCB National Cricket Academy on Saturday, 17 May 2014.
 
The fully equipped computer lab has been set up by the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) as part of its ongoing partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) under which the AIUB is BCB's Official Education Partner. AIUB also arranges English language classes, leadership courses, cultural awareness and life skills classes and a variety of educational programmes including computer fundamental courses for the National Cricket Players and BCB Officials. The beneficiaries of the BCB-AIUB partnership are the Academy, Under 19, High Performance and various age group trainees and also cricketers of the National Team.
 
The AIUB also offers annual scholarships to six cricketers of Under 19/Academy/National Team level in its undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. The University plays a significant role in capacity building of the BCB administration by providing three full scholarships per year for BCB officials.

Akram Khan, Chairman, Cricket Operations Committee (BCB), Khaled Mahmud Sujan, Chairman, Game Development Committee (BCB), Prof. Dr. Charles Villanueva, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mr. Sabbir Kabir, Director, Finance (AIUB), Mr. Lutfar Rahman, Director, PR (AIUB), Mr. Khurshed Alam, Additional Registrar (AIUB),Mr. A. K. Nazmul, Director, BBA Program & Coordinator, Office of Sports (AIUB), Mr. Manzur H Khan, Director, Student Affairs (AIUB) were also present on the occasion.
