On Wednesday, May 07, 2025, the IEOM AIUB Student Chapter hosted “Member Orientation Program” to welcome new members and introduce them to the club’s mission and activities, aiming to foster community and inspire participation.
The event began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FE), AIUB, who welcomed the members. Later Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Associate Dean, FE emphasized the importance of student involvement in professional growth. Additionally, Dr. Md. Ehasanul Haque, Head of the IPE Department, discussed leadership and innovation in engineering, followed by Prof. Dr. Ahad Ali, Executive Director of IEOM Society International, who highlighted IEOM’s global initiatives.
A key highlight was the career talk by IEOM alumni, who shared their professional journeys, motivating students to participate in club activities. Mr. Khondaker Mostakim Ahmed Fahim, Head of Supply Chain and Procurement at Dabur Bangladesh, also spoke as a guest, offering valuable insights. He focused on sustainable practices through the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and stressed the importance of capacity planning, data-driven decision-making, and industrial attachment for gaining practical experience. Further emphasizing the relevance of supply chain management, Mr. Mahamudul Hassan, Lecturer of the Department of IPE and Faculty Advisor of the IEOM AIUB Student Chapter, elaborated on its role in industrial and production engineering. Lastly, Md. Aqib Islam Chowdhury, Director of IEOM Society Bangladesh, outlined the organization’s future vision.
The program concluded with Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Professor and Director, Faculty of Engineering ,AIUB, who bid farewell to the outgoing committee members and introduced the new executive members to the audiences. The event ended with a cultural show and a group photo.
