IEEE AIUB Student Branch took part in a social work project which aimed at easing the suffering of the underprivileged by distributing winter clothes and blankets. The project entitled Project Warm Phase III was held by Leaders for Nation.
Leaders for Nation, a non-profit voluntary organization have been organizing Project Warm every year since 2010 out of a need to help ease the suffering of the underprivileged during the harsh winter months.
This year more than 6,000 winter clothes and blankets were distributed among the people of Chilmari and Ulipur unions of Kurigram District. Kurigram lies in the northern part of Bangladesh along the border with India. The temperature during the winter period drops down to almost 5°C. This is particularly tough on the underprivileged people living in the area.
Volunteers collected funds and donation of old clothes from various locations throughout Dhaka. These were then distributed among the people of Kurigram.
