On 24^th March, 2016, IEEE MTT-S AIUB Student Branch Chapter organized a workshop titled  "Advanced Design System (ADS)" in room 7101, Faculty of Arts and Social Science building, AIUB. The workshop was held to introduce the participants to one of the most leading electronic design automation software for RF, microwave and high-speed digital applications. This workshop was very beneficial for students who are working on their thesis, and those who are planning on pursuing a career, in telecommunications or microwave engineering.

Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Siddique Hossain, Honorable Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; initiated the event by welcoming the participants and delivered a short speech on importance of microwave and its various uses in different engineering fields. Afterward Mr. Rinku Basak, Head of Graduate Program & Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; discussed about wireless communication and encouraged students to pursue their own interests. Following that, Mr. Nasim Al Islam Swapnil, Chair, IEEE MTT-S AIUB Student Branch Chapter; talked about the benefits of MTT-S. He exhorted everyone to utilize their MTT-S membership by applying for awards, scholarship and fellowships.

Mr. Asif Ahmed, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Then enthusiastically guided the participants, though whole workshop. At the beginning he gave a brief description about Advance Digital system and RF spectrum. Then he showed simulations implementing different circuits. He then went on to show step by step procedure of using ADS. He discussed about transmission process and effect of small parameter change on simulation.  Dr. Tanseer Ali, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Counselor, IEEE AIUB student branch; assisted participants in the whole workshop with his perseverance. 

Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering AIUB; induced participants to learn more about microwave engineering and face upcoming challenge in this field. He thanked IEEE MTT-S AIUB Student Branch Chapter for organizing that workshop. This was followed by Dr. M. Tanseer Ali suggested student to do more research on microwave communication. The workshop was concluded as Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman presented Mr. Asif Ahmed a token of appreciation on behalf of IEEE MTT-S AIUB Student Branch Chapter. The participants were then presented a certificate to honor their wholehearted participation.

A total of 50 IEEE student members were present in this event, including members from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) and Daffodil International University (DIU).
