The IEEE Region 10 Student/YP/WIE Congress is biennial event, which provides an opportunity for young IEEE student members & professionals from all around Asia-Pacific (IEEE, Region-10) to build a strong bonding and network amongst the dedicated volunteers, learn and implement new initiatives from IEEE experienced volunteers and enhance their technical knowledge. The 2015 congress focuses on empowering Student, YP (Young Professionals), and the WIE (Women in Engineering) entities of IEEE. The Congress was based upon the theme of “Today’s youth for a better tomorrow” and catered to several other needs of the congress audience including Emerging Technologies, deep dive about IEEE, its structure and operations, and an amazing networking opportunity with peer volunteers from a delegation that will consist of people representing over 30 distinct nationalities and the principal entities of IEEE including WIE, Student and YP. The R10 congress was held on July 09^th to July 12^th, 2015 in Hotel Galadari, Colombo, Sri Lanka. IEEE Bangladesh Section was represented by different Student branches, namely AIUB, UIU, BUET, IUT, AUST, IUB and EWU Student branch, comprising of total 17 members. IEEE AIUB SB was represented by Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB & Mentor, IEEE AIUB SB along with Nasim Al Islam, Chairperson, IEEE AIUB SB; Mahmudul Haque Jishan, Vice-Chairperson, IEEE AIUB SB and Mohammad Taufiquzzaman, Former Chairperson, IEEE AIUB SB. The 4 day event was packed with inauguration ceremony, seminars, activities, competitions, gala night, award giving ceremony, multi-cultural night, meetings & dedicated events individually for each track like Student, YP, and WIE.

IEEE Bangladesh Section Chairperson, Dr. Shaikh Anwarul Fattah and WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section Chairperson Dr. Celia Shahnaz was there at Sri Lanka to nurture the Bangladesh Team. Participation and Remark of AIUB participants in the congress was very much interesting & enthusiastic. Due to their versatile branch activity throughout the whole year, IEEE AIUB SB was a very common pronounced branch amongst all the student branches of Region 10. Things went even more special & grand when IEEE AIUB Student Branch won the Best Poster Presentation for Student Branch Activities Award in the congress. The competition was a two round type where in the first round 100 SB’s from 25 different countries took part & only 20 of them got selected for the 2^nd round where they got a chance to present their branch activity poster in front of the judges at the congress. There was also an interactive quiz contest named “Engineers Wiz” which held before the congress with the participation of all the delegates of the congress and IEEE AIUB SB chairperson Nasim Al Islam secured 3^rd position on that contest. He was rewarded in the congress closing ceremony for his achievement. Another remarkable achievement from IEEE Bangladesh Section was the winning of Dr. Celia Shahnaz as the WIE Inspiring Member of the Year. The participation of this congress not only helped IEEE AIUB SB to gain valuable insights of IEEE on global standards but also created a vast network with the other national and international Student Branches.
