IEEE AIUB Student Branch presented a seminar on “Higher Study in Asian Institute of Technology(AIT), Thailand’’

On 17th April,2014 IEEE AIUB Student Branch presented a seminar on “Higher Study in Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand’’. The seminar aimed to enlighten students chiefly about postgraduate study opportunities at AIT, an institution which promotes development through higher education and research and is recognized for its diverse, multicultural ethos.
The seminar commenced with a few words from Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Director, Faculty of Engineering.Mr. Taskin Jamal, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & former student of AIT gave an introductory speech with the biography of the speakers. Prof. Nazrul Islam, Visiting professor, School of Management, AIT, Dr. Pakkeerthamby Abdul Salam, Assistant Professor, AIT and Mr. Fazle Karim, Senior Program Specialist, AIT represented the institution and highlighted several aspects which might interest Bangladeshi students for studying in AIT.
Dr. Pakeerthamby Abdul Salam emphasized on the scope of Energy Field of study as well as requirements and scholarship information for studying in AIT. Prof Nazrul Islam discussed the importance of knowledge sharing and also deliberated on the practical reasons of why one should choose AIT, its prospects and employability in an interactive and communicative question answer session. For a better understanding, alumni of AIT also shared their experience as AIT graduates so that the attendees could better relate themselves as prospective students.
The seminar was well attended by students and faculties alike, graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Associate Professor& Director, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Associate Professor & Head(Undergraduate Program,Department of  EEE), Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, Special Asst., OSA&Mentor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, Mr. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Asst., OSA., Mr. Ebad Zahir, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Asst., Department of EEE., Mr. M. S. Muhit, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Ms. Humaira Salmin,  Mr. Md. Ismail Hossain, Mr. Wayesh Qarony, Mr. Miftah Al Karim, Mr. Rakibul Hafiz, Mr. Raja Rashidul Hasan and  Mr. Shafquatul Islam, (Lecturers, Faculty of Engineering) were present at the seminar. Dr. A.B.M Siddique distributed gift hampers among the delegates as a token of appreciation and the effective seminar came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speakers and IEEE AIUB student branch for organizing the event.
