The goal of the tour was to familiarize the near about 60 participating members of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, with the industrial applications of automobile manufacturing process in present day factories (in particular with electrical safety and electronic features), allowing the students to benefit from practical on-field experience, alongside their regular in-class academics.
The factory is constructed on pre-fabricated steel structure on its premises of 35 acres with a covered space of over 200,000 sft. Management experts, engineers, skilled technicians and others totaling about 450 members are working in the factory in a professional and hygienic atmosphere. It has the production capacity of manufacturing 500 motorcycles per day. RAL's products cover 4 series of motorcycles ranging from 50 cc to 150 cc, and about 12 models of motorcycles. After manufacturing all motorcycles and their components are tested in the computerized testing line and checked by quality control personnel before making delivery. RAL obtained government approval as motorcycle manufacturer from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) after a thorough quality testing by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The tour concluded with small tokens of appreciation being presented to the managing team at Runner Automobiles Limited for hosting the participants at their factory. The managing team thanked IEEE AIUB Student Branch for taking the time to visit their factory and also invited the students for internship programs at their factory.
