On 16^th November, IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized a seminar on "The Best Practices of IEEE for Career Growth & Membership Development Drive" at Room 266, Faculty of Engineering Building, AIUB. The seminar was initiated at 5:00 pm, with the opening remarks of Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Siddique Hossain Ex-Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. He talked about the wide network of IEEE from industries to academies and how it can help to build career.

Afterwards, our first speaker Mr. Abdullah Ash Saki, Membership Development Coordinator, IEEE BDS section ; HES, Chevron; came up on stage and started his presentation speech. He discussed about several benefits of being IEEE members. He focused on the part of member’s satisfaction and membership retention. He exhilarated student branch to be devoted to its general members and try to arrange high quality events and provide every possible support to IEEE members.

Following the informative speech of Mr. Abdullah Ash Saki, Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Student Activity Coordinator (SAC), IEEE Bangladesh Section; Advisor, IEEE AIUB SB; Assistant Professor Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB; started his presentation speech. He began his speech with introduction of IEEE. He talked about different region and section of IEEE and IEEE Bangladesh Section. Later on, he talked about various technical and non-technical chapter and societies of IEEE. He discussed on different online platform of IEEE such as IEEE Xplore, IEEE Resume Lab, IEEE Entrepreneurship, IEEE N3xt, IEEE collaborate and IEEE Jobsite. He also mentioned about different types of membership category of IEEE. He talked about the wide range of opportunities available for IEEE student members. He concluded his speech with a short Q&A session. Both speakers shared their own life story, how they got benefited by being member of IEEE and encourage participants to a part of this biggest professional network.   

Later on, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Educational Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Advisor, IEEE AIUB SB; Director and Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; gave a short speech on educational and professional benefits of being an IEEE member. The event was concluded by giving the token of appreciation to the speakers on behalf of IEEE AIUB Student Branch. The seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Md. Nasimunnabi, Section Student Representative (SSR), IEEE Bangladesh Section, and Mr. Kazi Ahmed Asif Fuad, Publicity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Motivator, IEEE AIUB SB; Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. The event was interactive and informative. Participants were introduced to numerous amount of benefits and opportunities of IEEE.
