IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized an orientation program for the new members on Saturday, 8th February 2014, which was hosted in the auditorium of AIUB. The program was initiated by Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Asst. Prof. & Special Asst. – OSA) giving the welcome speech and elaborated the roles and impacts of IEEE community in order to shape the future of the newly recruited members. Followed by that Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain(Senior Lecturer, former IEEE AIUB SB Counselor)came in for a motivating speech and emphasized on the significance of being an IEEE member. The event continued with a presentation by Mr. Mohammad Taufiquzzaman (IEEE AIUB SB Chair 2014) who illustrated a brief overview on the organization and how it can benefit the IEEE members. After that Mr. Almeer Ahsan Asif (IEEE AIUB SB Chair 2013) entered to have an interacting session with the members and discussed on how to make the system better and effective in the future. Finally, Mr. Manzur H. Khan (Director, Office of Students Affairs) welcomed all the new members and admired about the activities of AIUB IEEE Student Branch. He also emphasized on the importance of participating in extra-curricular activities. For the farewell of the previous committee,Mr. Manzur H Khan(Director of OSA) along with Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid, Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan and Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain came onto the stage and handed over crests and certificates to the former Executive Board members and Volunteers of the Branch in recognition for their work and contribution towards the IEEE AIUB Student Branch for the year 2013. The program concluded with the announcement of the new Executive Board members of the 2014, where Mr. Sayed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, EEE Department) was present. Proceedings went on as is customary at such events with member ID cards, ribbons and food being given out to the new members of IEEE AIUB Student Branch.
