IEEE AIUB Student Branch New Member Orientation 2012

IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized an orientation program for the new members on Wednesday, 14th November 2012. The program was held at the AIUB Auditorium. The event started with a speech by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean (Faculty of Engineering) giving a brief overview of IEEE, the institute and the formation of IEEE Bangladesh Section,  followed by a speech from Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Assistant Professor and Head (Undergrad Program) of EEE Department emphasizing on the importance of IEEE publications and benefits of recognition from the institute and a speech by Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Professor and Head (Graduate Program) of EEE Department stressing on the benefits of IEEE membership and the resources available to students. Faculty members from EEE department Mr. Rony Kumar Saha, Assistant Professor and Senior Lecturers Mr. Bishwajit Banik Pathik and Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan also attended the event. Proceedings went on as is customary at such events with crests and certificates being given out to former Executive Body Members and the Counselor of the Branch in recognition of their work and contribution to the Branch, followed by a video presentation showcasing the events of the past year and a motivating speech from Branch Counselor Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Senior Lecturer, EEE Department, highlighting what the Branch has accomplished so far and its impact on the students. Later, certificates were given out to the volunteers acknowledging their tireless efforts throughout the year. The event concluded with the announcement and introduction of the new Executive Body Members. An Overview of IEEE AIUB Student Branch-

The core purpose of IEEE is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.  IEEE with its global technical community provides vast resources to aid students in their field of study and IEEE AIUB Student Branch has been helping students take advantage of these resources.
