On Thursday, 8th January 2026, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized the “IEEE AIUB Student Branch Members’ Orientation 2025”. The objective of this session was to welcome new and renewing participants from the 2025 Membership Drive.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain, Dean, FE, AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch. He delivered a speech reflecting on his own IEEE journey and concluded by congratulating the new members and encouraging them to actively engage in the branch’s initiatives for continued growth and development. Following this, Dr. Gour Chand Mazumder, Assistant Professor, FE, AIUB; Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, welcomed the members and presented a comprehensive speech about the importance of IEEE membership and benefits of getting involved with the activities of the branch. Afterwards a Q&A session was facilitated by Md. Kamrul Hasan, Vice Chair (Executive Committee) 2024-2025, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, addressed the various inquiries and concerns raised by the attendees regarding the branch's roadmap. Sadia Afrin, Former Chair of WIE Affinity Group 2022, IEEE AIUB Student Branch shared her experience serving IEEE student Branch and how IEEE shaped and helped her shaping the professionalism. Following that, the former executive committee members were provided with token of appreciation to honor their contributions, and the new Executive Committee 2026 was officially announced. The event concluded with a closing speech by Dr.  Mazumder.

The event started at 4:00 PM and concluded at around 8:00 PM (GMT +6). A total of 200+ participants attended the members’ orientation. Honorable faculty members, Mr. Md. Shahariar Parvez, Assistant Professor, Special Assistant [OSA], FE, AIUB, Mr. Mahmudul Hassan, Assistant Professor, FE, AIUB were present at the event.
