IAB Accreditation Team visits Department of Architecture

 
Department of Architecture applied for accreditation from Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) in 2012 and as a part of the process an evaluation team consisting of four members from IAB visited the Department on Monday, June 03, 2013. The members included Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed Mushtaque Ahmed; Professor Dr. Fuad H. Mullick, Architects Mamnoon Morshed Chowdhury & Architect Shaila Joarder. The team was warmly received by a group from AIUB which included Dean of Engineering Professor Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain; Dean of Business Administration Professor Dr. Charles Villanueva, Department Head Professor Dr. Saleh Uddin and Department Coordinator M. Arefeen Ibrahim. The evaluation team had a long working session at the department from 11 am till 6 pm. Senior faculties from Architecture were present in the session to respond to and clarify different issues discussed. Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna joined the team during lunch and shared her valuable thoughts and vision regarding the B. Arch program. In the afternoon session the team had a visit to different facilities which included Design Studios, Theory classrooms, Exhibition & Jury space, Faculty rooms, Carpentry Workshop, Material Library, Reference Library, Computer Lab, Central Library etc. They appreciated the standard of facilities provided for the students at AIUB. At the end of the visit, Dr. Saleh Uddin and M. Arefeen Ibrahim - on behalf of the Department thanked the team for scheduling the visit and expressed their high hope of gaining accreditation from IAB very soon.
