Department of English and Social Science, AIUB organized a Humanities and Social Science Quiz Contest in its campus at Kuril. It was an inclusive competition covering all the students of different departments of all the four faculties, FASS, FBA, FE and FSIT of AIUB. Just ahead of Bengali Nabobarsho Pahela Boishakh on 12th April Thursday, the grand finale and prize giving ceremony was held on the same day. The preliminary round of quiz contest was held on 2nd April, participated by around 600 students. From this large number of students only 24 students were selected for the final round. The final round was held in the morning of 12th April 2018. A number of teachers’ panels from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) were engaged and provided full support in both the preliminary and final round selection procedure. Md Samiur Rahman and Anate Nishat turned to be the Champions and Iffat Tasnim, Nuzhat Tarannum and Urmi Akter achieved the runner up position in the quiz competition. All the participants and winners were provided with certificate of participation and the Champion and Runner up team members were provided with crests. Amid a lot of din and bustle at 12:30 on 12th April the certificate and prize giving ceremony started in presence of Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of FASS, M. Hamidul Haque, Head of the Department of English, participating students, and a large number of audience. With vibrant presentation of the Head of Social Science Dr. MD. Taufiqul Islam, the ceremony received a festive grandeur. Other eminent professors and faculty members of English, Economics, MMC and Social Science departments also graced the occasion with their active presence.
