Department of Operations Management of American International University-Bangladesh arranged a guest lecturer session on 7 August, 2016, for the OM Major students of Managerial Forecasting (BBA). To enhance the Students’ knowledge base, Syed Shakil Ahmed, General Manager, Business Intelligence, Commercial Division, Grameenphone Ltd., gave a presentation on the importance and applications of Forecasting in acquiring business intelligence and in the overall corporate world of Bangladesh. While sharing his practical knowledge, the speaker addressed not only how forecasting is done but also monitoring and controlling of the accuracy of forecasted values in corporate sectors of the country. After the session an open discussion session took place.

Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Associate Professor & Director, MBA program, delivered a vote of thanks to the guest speaker for his valuable speech and closed the session by presenting a certificate of appreciation and a gift pack.

The course teacher Ms. Nazmun Nahar, Assistant Professor of the Department of Operations Management organized the session. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Head of the Department of Operations Management, Dr. Tamanna Islam and Ms. Sadia Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Operations Management provided their continuous support for the arrangement of the session.
