BBA students of ‘Financial Institutions & Markets’ and ‘Bank Fund Management’ on 21st July took part in an interactive session as Mr. Mohammad Shoaib, Head of Corporate Financial Services of LankaBangla Finance Ltd. visited the auditorium as a guest lecturer. The objective of the session was to provide the students with an idea about the status of Non Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI’s) of the country.
During the session, Mr. Shoaib shared his experience about specialization, competition as well as contribution of NBFI’s in our economy with the students. He discussed in details about the difference between NBFI’s and BFI’s, role of NBFI’s in our country along with Banks and some tips for job interview as well as to prepare an enhanced resume. He also explained how theoretical knowledge of ‘Finance’ courses is relevant in day to day financial decision making of both personal and corporate life. At some stage in the session Mr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Head, Department of Accounting and Finance also engaged himself with the guest lecturer to make the session more participative. The session was very interactive and a number of students have participated in a question & answer session. The session was organized and coordinated by Md. Joynal Abedin, Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) as a part of in-class knowledge sharing for the students.
At the end of the session, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, FBA expressed his vote of thanks to the guest speaker and then presented him with Certificates of Appreciation. Mr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Head, Department of Accounting and Finance, presented a token of appreciation to the guest and the session was brought to an end.
