Session 1 on Cost of Capital 

Department of Finance, FBA, AIUB arranged a session for the students of “Capital Budgeting” class, on “Cost of Capital”, which has been organized on 19^th November, 2017 at the permanent campus. This was part of a student development initiative for the class, undertaken by the course instructor, Ms. Rumana Afrin.

Mr. Fairuz Chowdhury, Lecturer at IBA, DU was the guest lecturer in this session.  With more than 5 years of extensive experience in teaching in different private and in the top leading public university of Bangladesh, Mr. Fairuz conducted an elaborate session on “Cost of Capital”. The interactive session comprising of white board session followed by question answer session and these two methods were especially effective in facilitating a better understanding of the topics recently taught in class.

 At the end of the session, Associate Professor Mr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Head, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration; and Assistant Professor Mr. Joynal Abedin, Department of Finance gave a vote of thanks to the guest speaker for his valuable contribution by presenting him with a certificate of appreciation and gift pack.

Session 2 on Capital Budgeting in practice

The Finance department organized a corporate session for the students of Capital Budgeting course which was held on 26^th November 2017. To share the experience of the relevant field Mr. A K M Sharif Akhter, Head of Planning, Cimex, Bangladesh conducted a session to aware about the capital budgeting in practice. He provided an insight toward the different concepts of capital budgeting including planning and forecasting. The presentation was very interesting for the students and was followed by question answer session. This was part of a student development initiative for the class, undertaken by the course instructor, Ms. Rumana Afrin and supervised by Mr. M. Taseen Chowdhury, Coordinator, Department of Finance.

 At the end of the session, Assistant Professor Mr. M. Taseen Chowdhury, Coordinator, Department of Finance, gave a vote of thanks to the guest speaker for his valuable contribution by presenting him with a certificate of appreciation and gift pack. The students were enriched and delighted to gain knowledge from experienced personnel. 

Session 3 on Risk Analysis

Department of Finance, FBA, AIUB arranged a session for the students of “Capital Budgeting” class, on “Risk Analysis”, which has been organized on 3^rd December, 2017 at the permanent campus. This was part of a student development initiative for the class, undertaken by the course instructor, Ms. Rumana Afrin.

Mr. Tanvir Islam, Head of Derivatives & Global Market, AFC Capital Ltd.; AVP, Corporate Affairs, Active Fine Chemicals Ltd.; was the guest lecturer in this session.  With more than 5 years of extensive experience in different corporate sector especially in derivate market, Mr. Tanir conducted an elaborate session on “Risk Analysis”. The interactive session comprising of multimedia and white board session followed by question answer session and these methods were especially effective in facilitating a better understanding of the topics recently taught in class.

 At the end of the session, Assistant Professor Mr. M. Taseen Chowdhury, Coordinator, Department of Finance, and Assistant Professor Mr. Joynal Abedin, Department of Finance, gave a vote of thanks to the guest speaker for his valuable contribution by presenting him with a certificate of appreciation and gift pack.
