As a part of the “Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series,” a regular initiative of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), an informative seminar titled “Metaverse - Opportunities and Concerns” was held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at AIUB auditorium. The session was organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology in honor of AIUB’s visionary Founder Chairman Dr. Anwarul Abedin who catalyzed substantial transformation in the educational sector of the country.

The distinguished speaker for this session was Prof. Dr. Badrul H khan. Prof. Khan is a United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Hall of Fame Inductee. Prof. Dr. Badrul Huda Khan is an author and educator focused on web-based training and educational technology. Prof Khan recognized the potential of the World Wide Web for education early in 1996. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Badrul H khan illustrated his knowledge and experience on Metaverse - Opportunities and Concerns. He also discussed numerous valuable ideologies with the audience on related topics.

Sr. Associate Professor Mashiour Rahman (Associate Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, AIUB) delivered an inspirational welcome message to the audience. He emphasized AIUB’s stand on prioritizing the importance of improving digital skills and developing a technological mindset to help business ventures. After the keynote session, Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Professor & Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) presented a token of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Badrul H khan and thanked him for his valuable speech. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi (Director, Faculty of Science and Technology, AIUB) and coordinated by Assistant Professor and Head-in-Charge, Department of Computer Science, Dr. Md. Abdullah - Al – Jubair. Faculty members, officials, and students were present and thoroughly enjoyed the session.
