Freshmen Reception Program of Architecture Department

Students and faculties from Department of Architecture, AIUB shared a magnificent evening with freshmen enrolled for Summer 2009 on 21st July Tuesday at the AIUB auditorium. The department was privileged to have Honorable Vice-President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. T. Hossain, Associate Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Imtiaz Chowdhury, Head of Architecture Department Prof. Dr. Salehuddin and Coordinator of Architecture M. Arefeen Ibrahim  in the audience. The event started with addresses from the Head, followed by the Associate Dean and finally by the Dean. The students were inspired by their sppeches.
The event was staged in three different parts. In the first part senior students performed in a spectacular cultural show dedicated to the new comers. The freshmen of the AIUB Architecture were received with flowers by their elder ones.
In the second part, the department bid farewell to the faculties who will be going abroad for their masters and also welcomed incoming faculty who has returned after successful completion of Masters. In the third part, there was a Film Show ‘Frank Lloyd Wright: Murder, myth &modernism’. The Film was featuring the biography of one of the master architects, Frank Lloyd Wright, his practice and private life and his pursuit for Modernism. It was mind-boggling to watch the story of a master Architect who has given a new insight to world’s Architecture.
