SEMINAR ON: FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF THE TRANSITION PROCESS FROM WASTE-TO-RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN BD
A seminar entitled, ‘Financial Aspects of the Transition Process from Waste-to-Resource Management in Bangladesh’ was held at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 4.00 PM in the AIUB Auditorium. The seminar was organized by the Department of Operations Management and Quantitative, and participated in by the students and faculty of the Department .
The honorable Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva delivered a welcome message. In his message, he underscored the importance of effective waste management with the sincere participation of all sectors in the society. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Faculty, Department of Operations Management. He informed the participants on how waste management can be transformed into resources which would generate income for the people and the government. He further discussed the process of converting the waste into resources which would provide opportunities for the people to properly management waste so that it can also contribute to the improvement of the environment of the Bangladesh.
Dr. AKM Matiur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Operations Management, AIUB delivered an inspirational message and expressed thanks to all the participants and the speaker for his interesting and very informative topic of discussion.
