The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) successfully organized a workshop on “How to Defend Interview Questions”. The workshop was designed for internship and final-year students to enhance their professional readiness and communication competencies.
The session commenced with an opening address by Ms. Farzan Mitu, Lecturer, Department of Marketing. She highlighted the importance of effective communication and professional preparedness in bridging the gap between academic life and the corporate world.
Prof. Dr. Shibli Ahmed Khan conducted a comprehensive session on professional interview skills, focusing on interview expectations, structured answering techniques, and effective communication strategies essential for career success. A live demonstration session was conducted by Ms. Farzan Mitu and Ms. Nusrat Nowreen Srabonty, where students were shown a comparative analysis of ineffective and professional interview performances. This segment provided a clear understanding of common mistakes and best practices in real-life interview scenarios.
The program was further enriched by a valuable session delivered by Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing. She guided students on structuring internship research reports, content development, and professional presentation during internship defense.
A key highlight of the workshop was the interactive mock interview session, where students were divided into groups and engaged in structured role-playing activities. Participants took on the roles of interviewers and candidates, practicing responses to both common and scenario-based interview questions. The session was facilitated by Ms. Farzan Mitu, who provided real-time feedback and guidance, enabling students to refine their communication skills, build confidence, and develop a practical understanding of professional interview dynamics.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip students with essential interview and internship defense skills and enhance their confidence.
The successful organization of the workshop demonstrates AIUB’s dedication to integrating practical skill development with academic learning, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future professional journeys. This initiative reflects AIUB’s ongoing commitment to fostering career-ready graduates and promoting quality education in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Quality Education.
The event was planned and organized by Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Chartered Marketer (UK), Director in Charge, BBA Program.
