On Thursday, 28 August 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) Research Cell successfully conducted the third session of its ongoing research proposal presentation series. With each session, the initiative continues to build momentum by engaging faculty members in thoughtful academic exchange and encouraging them to pursue impactful research.
In this session, Ms. Sanjida Akter, Lecturer, Department of Accounting, presented her proposal addressing issues focusing on strengthening financial governance and institutional accountability. Her study explores how professional practices, and regulatory mechanisms shape the credibility of financial information, offering insights that can benefit both academia and industry. The proposal highlighted the importance of transparency and ethical conduct, sparking thoughtful discussion among participants on the broader implications for the country’s financial system.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, the Honorable Dean of FBA, graced the session with his presence and shared his thoughtful remarks and guidance with the participants. Prof. Hossain praised Ms. Sanjida Akter for her effort and emphasized that rigorous, well-structured research not only contributes to academic literature but also informs policy and practice. He underscored the importance of carefully selecting the appropriate sample and population in research design, highlighting how these choices affect the validity and generalizability of findings. He also elaborated on the role of robust methods of analysis in ensuring research credibility and encouraged faculty members to continuously enhance their methodological skills. His involvement in this context reflects the faculty’s alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG-4 (Quality Education).
This session also had the honor of welcoming the Dean of the University of South Asia School of Business, as a special guest. He appreciated the initiative of the Research Cell for fostering a culture of collaboration and research engagement among the faculty members. In his remarks, he stressed the importance of selecting the most effective analytical tools to strengthen research outcomes and encouraged young academics to embrace new techniques and technologies in their scholarly work. His presence added further significance to the session and inspired faculty members to expand their research horizons.
Heads of different departments along with faculty members actively participated in this session. They shared their own knowledge and offered constructive suggestions, which enriched the discussion and added valuable perspectives to the proposal. Their encouragement also motivated faculty members to engage more deeply in quality research work, reflecting the collective spirit of collaboration that the Research Cell seeks to promote.
The session came to a close with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and scholarly exchange, leaving participants motivated to advance their own research endeavors.
