Year: 2026
Organized By:
Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), AIUB
Venue:
Computer Laboratory, Room 2201

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) organized an impactful workshop titled "Data Analysis with SPSS – both Descriptive & Inferential Methods" on May 18, 2026. The workshop designed to accelerate and encourage innovative research initiatives and aimed to equip faculty members with the vital statistical analytical tools required to tackle modern, data-driven research questions.

The session was officially inaugurated by Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director [MBA Program]. In his opening remarks, Dr. Alam underscored the critical role that robust statistical software plays in strengthening quantitative research, emphasizing that tools like SPSS are indispensable for generating credible, high-impact academic research work.

The workshop was uniquely driven by Prof. Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Professor and Member of the Research and Publication Steering Committee, who served as both the primary arranger and a key speaker. Prof. Dr. Hossain took this proactive initiative specifically to motivate young faculty members to take on new, ambitious research challenges. The core audience for the training session primarily comprised Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Assistant Professors within the FBA.

Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor from the Mathematics Department at AIUB, served as the workshop's specialized resource person. During the session, he provided deeply insightful, hands-on guidance on navigating both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques within the SPSS environment. His expertise allowed participants to bridge the gap between complex mathematical theory and practical data application, demystifying advanced data modelling for the attendees.

In today’s academic landscape, quantitative data analysis is the backbone of impactful research. In line with global academic standards, this institutional capacity-building initiative directly addresses Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (Quality Education). This workshop marks a significant step forward for FBA, ensuring that the next generation of professors and lecturers are fully equipped to transform raw data into meaningful, publication-ready insights. By mastering both descriptive and inferential methods in SPSS, researchers can uncover deeper trends, back up their hypotheses with statistical weight, and confidently push the boundaries of business administration research.
