For the first time since the academic life of AIUB started in 1994, an awarding ceremony is being held to honor and recognize students with  excellent  academic performance.This maybe not only the  first in AIUB but also in the academia in Bangladesh.  At AIUB, Dean’s List are those undergraduate  students (BBA)who performed or obtained excellent GPA marks in a particular semester in addition to some other criteria like:  obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.75 during any regular semester, completed or earned a minimum of 24 credit hours, minimum credit load during a semester of 15/14 credit hours, no GPA less than 3.25 in any course in previous semester, no F, W, UW, I in any course in the previous  record, and no disciplinary action has been taken for not complying with AIUB policy. The same criteria are applied for the Dean’s Honorable Mention in the Graduate Program (MBA and EMBA) except that the minimum GPA during the semester is 3.85 and a total credit hours of 18. The awarding ceremony was held last week in this Spring Semester 2016-2017 based on the previous semester or Fall Semester performance. A total of 187 BBA students qualified while 61 MBA and 16 EMBA. The students were extremely overwhelmed of this honor which is an additional evidence that at certain semester they had a shining performance. All the authorities present and all the faculty, congratulated the awardees and expressed a fervent wish that their performance will continue until they  graduate where another recognition await them  in the presence of all graduating students during the Convocation. While the Faculty of Business Administration paved the way for the three other Faculties, it is expected that the same ceremony will be organized to accord excellent performing students in FE, FSIT and FASS. Let this award and honor be an inspiration and challenge to the other students to do their best. Let us all join hands in congratulating the Dean’s List and Dean’s Honorable Mention.
