The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a lively Freshers’ Day on Wednesday, November 05, 2025, to welcome the BBA freshmen of the Fall 2025-2026 Semester. The event was held at the AIUB Multi-purpose Hall in Annex 7 and was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, the Advisor and Dean in Charge, FBA, Directors, department heads, faculty members of FBA, and enthusiastic new students.
The program began with a welcome speech by Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of the BBA Program. This was followed by remarks from Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, shared his inspiring messages and valuable guidance for the students. On behalf of FBA, Prof. Dr. Faridul Alam, Director, MBA Program presented a session entitled “Brief Introduction of the FBA (Departments and Heads)”. Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean in Charge, FBA shared a highly inspirational speech in his concluding remarks.
The event transitioned to an engaging cultural segment featuring captivating performances by current students and members of the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC). Ms. Ananna Podder and Ms. Nanda Barua exhibited a dance performance on classical songs whereas Ms. Ananna Podder and Nowrin Akhter Tuba showed their expertise by performing a dance on remix of modern mixed Bengali songs. Ms. Puza Rani Shill, and Ms. Sumaiya Jahan Alo exhibited a dance performance on remix of Bengali folk songs where Ms. Puza Rani Shill, Ms. Sumaiya Jahan Alo, Hossain, Samiya, & Prome, Tawseen Rahman also exhibited a chorus dance performance on a Bengali mixed song. Ms. Shrestha Roy, Ms. Sayeeda Alam, Ganguly, Banhishikha, Ms. Sharah Mehjabin Anchal, and Ms. Kaberi Khan Pritha captivated the audience with their solo performances on modern Bengali song, Nazrul Geeti, Rabindra Sangeet, Bengali modern song and Bengali Folk song respectively Whereas Mr. Ahtesha Nul Hye captivated the audience with his solo performance on Bengali hard rock song. Mr. Soumendra S. Das, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing performed a solo performance on a Bengali song of the golden era whereas Ms. Nabila Wahid, Lecturer of Finance performed a solo performance on old Bengali movie song. The cultural segment concluded with a vibrant performance by APAC members, mentored by Mr. Soumendra Sankar Das, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing.
The event was planned and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Marketing, THM, & IB in association with Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Professor, & Director, BBA Program, FBA. It was hosted by Mr. Jubayer Suhan, Assistant Professor. MIS. The cultural part was hosted by Ms. Shafia Ibnat Khan, a marketing major student of BBA program. Ms. Rodshi, Fazilatun Nesa
and Orin, Irfat Nahar played the role of volunteers in order to welcome the fresh students and guide them to run the event smoothly.
