FBA DEAN INVITED AS GRADUATION SPEAKER OF PHSS ACADEMY


The Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles c. Villanueva was invited on behalf of the Vice Chancellor , Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna , as the graduation speaker of the Pledge Harbor School and Sports Academy located in Mymensingh last Thursday, 13 June 2013. The event also includes the presentation of the various awards to students who have obtained excellent academic and non-academic performance. On hand to receive the honorable Dean and AQAC officers, Mr. Imranul Haque and Mr. Pronoy Anthony Costa were the School Director and Principal, Mr. Martin F. Mai and the honorable founder of the academy Mr. ATM Saidul Alam. The academy is a dormitory school exclusive for boys from Grades 1-12. The School Principal is a Canadian with foreign and local faculty members. The facilities are impressive of international standards and nestled in a vast area for about 1200 students. According to the founder, he has plans to establish a campus in Malaysia and in Saudi Arabia maintaining the same international standards in facilities and other components of the institution. He suggested to the founder to have its academic program internationally accredited for prestige and proper recognition.

In his graduation message, the honorable Dean focused on the value of education and the challenges after graduation as they enter the university; the role of the parents/guardians in the success of their children; the mission of the teachers to hone and nurture students to become successful in their choice of career; and underscored the quest of the American International University-Bangladesh for quality and excellence. The best features of the university were also emphasized so that the students and parents will be inspired especially on the accreditation status of the university. After the graduation message of the honorable Dean, he was presented a Plaque of Appreciation by the Director/Principal and the Founder. To reciprocate the gesture given to the honorable Dean, he also presented some tokens and souvenirs of AIUB.
