Faculty members and students of the American International University-Bangladesh participated in the International Conference on Social, Politics, Law, and Language (ICOSPALL) 2026, held on 27–28 August 2026 at the University of Teuku Umar (UTU), Indonesia. AIUB was a co-organizer of the conference, which was held under the theme “Peace, Prosperity, and the Right to Sustainable Development in the Global South.” The collaboration was arranged and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Md Asif Kamal, Department of English and Office of Research, AIUB

AIUB researchers and students presented nine papers covering issues related to English language education, online and offline learning, artificial intelligence, educational inequality, climate justice, environmental law, academic performance, and postcolonial literature. A keynote paper was also presented by Prof. Dr. Md Asif Kamal was also presented from AIUB

A major achievement for AIUB was receiving two Best Paper Awards. The paper “Carbon Colonialism and Resistance: Reclaiming Climate Justice in the Global South,” presented by Ashikur Rahman, Samaun Fardosy Orthi, and Silve Alam, received one award. The other was awarded to Abrar Sakib for “From Colonial Gaze to Domestic Surveillance: Imperial Spectatorship in Heart of Darkness and ‘The Haunting of Hajji Hotak’.”
