FACULTY OF ENGINEERING ORGANIZED A WEBINAR TITLED “PROJECT MANAGEMENT: BREAKING THE ICE”

On November 18, 2021 Faculty of Engineering (FE) organized a webinar titled “Project Management: Breaking the Ice”, which was supported by AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES). The program started at 03:00 PM with the participation of 51 participants using the online platform Zoom. The purpose of this webinar was to provide students a broad understanding of project maintenance.

Mr. Khurshid Shahid Almeher (Founder and Principal, Kaymonto & Partners, Dhaka) began his speech by thanking everyone for inviting him to share his expertise as an engineer in the field of engineering project management. After that he highlighted the significance of communication, claiming that project management is an art that comprises 90% communication and 10% action. He went on to illustrate the fundamentals and challenges of project management. He explained the Project life cycle and risk management with a visual paradigm. He also explained the importance of triple constraints to keep sight of the project as it progresses and emphasized project management process group and knowledge area mapping. He recommended students to be more modest and helpful in order to lead a team as a project manager by gaining in-depth understanding on their respective field. Then a short Q&A session was held where the speaker answered the queries of the participants. Following that, virtual crest was presented as a token of appreciation to the honourable speaker.

The webinar was graced by the presence of Mr. Mohammad Zohurul Islam (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Sujan Howlader (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Md Ashif Islam Oni (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Mr. Anas Abdullah Alvi (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).
