On November 4, 2021 Faculty of Engineering, AIUB organized a webinar titled "Career Growth in Microelectronics R&D”, which was supported by AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES). The program started at 07:00 PM with 100 participants using the online platform Zoom. The purpose of this webinar was to provide a roadmap regarding career in microelectronics R&D as well as to prepare students to cope with the anticipated technological challenges in microelectronics industry in the near future.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Professor & Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ACES) commenced the webinar by emphasizing on the importance of semiconductor materials for integrated circuits. He encouraged students to involve in research & development of microelectronics in order to build strong career in future. Alumnus of Department of EEE, AIUB Dr. Nissar Mohammad Karim (Research Associate, University of Liverpool; Research Member, CERN-RD50) began his speech with brief explanation of the evolution of microelectronics. After that he shared some of his case studies and research works on CMOS design and microfabrication. he shared his recent work of CERN-RD50 and UniLiv research on high energy physics, processes and application. He shared some tips and tricks to build career in microelectronics. Afterwards, a short Q&A session was held where the speaker answered the queries of the participants. Following that, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Professor, Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) thanked our honorable speaker for his well explained and thought-provoking remarks. He also shared that AIUB is facilitating the students with best simulation tools and laboratory equipment. He advised students to use these facilities and opportunities to follow the path of the successful graduates like the honorable speaker. He then presented the virtual token of appreciation to the honorable speaker.
