Two faculty members, Ms. Susmita Ghosh (Associate Professor & Assessor, [IQAC-AIUB]) and Dr. Effat Jahan (Assistant Professor) from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), proudly participated in the “Renewable Energy Fest 2025,” held from April 23–24 at the ECE Building premises of BUET. This significant event was jointly organized by ActionAid Bangladesh, BUET, and the Just Energy Transition Network Bangladesh (JETnet-BD), with the aim of fostering innovation, policy advocacy, and public awareness in the field of renewable energy.
The event brought together academics, industry leaders, development partners, and civil society to discuss Bangladesh’s progress in energy transition. As AIUB is the only educational institution among the members of WePOWER, the participation of AIUB’s female faculty members was aligned with the goals of the WePOWER Bangladesh National Chapter, focusing on gender inclusion and collaboration in energy initiatives. Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh, chaired the event and emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership in driving just energy transitions.
The faculty members of AIUB attended several key sessions, including “Women in Renewable Energy” and “PowerPitch: Pitching Bright Ideas for a Greener Future,” contributing to dialogues on sustainable energy solutions and exploring opportunities for academic-industry collaboration. Their presence not only highlighted AIUB's commitment to renewable energy education and innovation but also strengthened ties with national stakeholders in the sector, opening new avenues for future projects and partnerships.
