The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a strategic meeting with a delegation from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, to explore potential avenues of academic collaboration and institutional partnership in higher education, on June 8 at AIUB Campus. The meeting was initiated and arranged under the guidance of Ms. Dulce Corazon Z. Lamagna, Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB, who played a key role in facilitating the visit and strengthening international engagement between the two universities.

The AIUB delegation included Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor; Md. Manirul Islam, Associate Professor and Director, ICE; and Ms. Nazia Farhana, Associate Professor and Additional Director, IQAC. The University of Wolverhampton delegation comprised Mr. Andrew Bird, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Recruitment); Mr. Kamran Ashfaq, Associate Director, International Student Recruitment; Mr. Soumitra Banerjee, Regional Manager, South Asia; and Mr. Amit Arora, Regional Manager, South Asia.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB, who warmly received the visiting delegation and emphasized AIUB’s commitment to expanding global partnerships and advancing internationalization in higher education. Following this, Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor of AIUB, presented an overview of the university, highlighting its academic excellence, institutional growth, research initiatives, and ongoing international collaborations.

The discussion focused on potential areas of collaboration between the two universities, including student exchange programs, faculty mobility, joint research initiatives, and broader academic cooperation opportunities. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both institutions expressing mutual interest in strengthening sustainable academic partnerships in the future.

The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both AIUB and the University of Wolverhampton to fostering international academic engagement and creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration. The exchange of ideas and discussions during the meeting laid a strong foundation for future cooperation, reflecting both institutions’ dedication to enhancing educational quality, research excellence, and global learning experiences. Such partnerships are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of higher education and strengthen international connectivity between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
