MS Excel is widely used in professional offices, but the question remains whether it is being utilized to its full potential. MIS Department here at AIUB, have conducted a workshop from August 6 to August 8, 2016 to outline some essential MS Excel tools. Aim of the program was to assist the participants to improve their efficiency and accuracy in the workplace. There were 65 participants in the program ranging from students of different disciplines from AIUB and professional bankers from Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, executives from Grameen Telecom, Concord Pharma Ltd, Social Safety Net Foundation and REVE Systems. Some of the MS Excel topics covered in the workshop included summary of basic excel tools and shortcut, financial functions of bank management, pivot tables, payrolls, auto invoice generator and security tools After the inauguration session, all the participants were taken to the computer labs for hands-on MS Excel  training session. Four faculty members of MIS department Md. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid , Golam Morshed, Md. Mahmudul Islam and Md.Maniruzzaman was the instructor of this workshop. The instructor’s tireless effort and honorable department head Dr. Tabin Hasan’s direction makes the event successful. The participants were awarded with certificate of participation at the end of the three-day workshop by the Honourable Pro-VC and Dean of Faculty of  Business Administration, Dr. Charles Villanueva and Head of Department of MIS Dr. Tabin Hasan.
