“Industrial tour to ENERGYPAC LTD”

Engineering Student's Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face organized an Industrial tour to Energypac Transformer Factory at Ashulia on 26^th November, 2015 to gather practical experience of the manufacturing process of the transformer. 56 enthusiastic students were led by Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, Special Assistant (OSA) & Mentor, ESAB AIUB Unit Face), Mr. Tawsif Ibne Alam (Lecturer, Department of EEE & Motivator, ESAB AIUB Unit Face), Ms. Tajbia Karim (Lecturer, Department of EEE & Motivator, ESAB AIUB Unit Face) and Ms. Sharmin Jahan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB).At first, respected engineers of Energypac Ltd. gave a brief description of how the company is giving its full effort in order to support country’s power distribution system and to improve the quality of the lives of its employees and the communities it serves.  Then all the student were divided to explore the factory leading by the engineers of the company along with faculty members. Students experienced different units of the factory to have a close view of Switchgear Plant, Power Transformer Plant, Distribution Transformer Plant, VCB, CT, PT, CRT and Isolator Plant along with quality assurance process in different testing labs. The instructor explained how the unit works and how they manage when technical issue occurs. Students were also given idea about different servo motors, current transformer, potential transformer, how they dealt with input and output system of vacuum circuit breaker (VCB), isolator, AVR/ACR and many more. The students were very keen and excited to learn as they found relation between theory and practical implementation as the instructor showed every details of working process of the industry and even provided visible demonstration. The energetic participants were also given opportunity to ask any question regarding every machine along with their mechanism. On the whole, the trip was an excellent opportunity for the students to find practical applications. At the end of the tour, souvenir from AIUB was given to the instructors of Energypac Ltd. by the Faculty members as a token of appreciation.
