Engineering Student's Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face organized a technical workshop entitled as "PSIM simulation tool” at EEE Seminar Room-266, Building-2, AIUB, from 11am - 2pm on 28^th January, 2016. The workshop started with the national anthem followed by a brief promo video demonstrating ESAB's aim, vision and activities.

Dr. M. Tanseer Ali (Assistant professor, Department of EEE, AIUB) provided the inaugural speech emphasizing the importance of simulation tool and gave many information on this regard so that the participants get encouragement to apply it in the practical field. He ended his speech by thanking everyone and wishing the program's success.

The workshop then commenced with Mr. Ahmed Mortuza Saleque (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), giving an introduction of PSIM software. He demonstrated electrical circuit simulation including RLC series circuit, finding out voltage, current, power factor, apparent power, real power, FFT, THD by changing parameters. He also illustrated digital logic circuits that included half adder circuit simulation. Additionally, power electronic circuit simulation was explained. Afterwards, he orchestrated the renewable energy section of PSIM software which turned out to be one of the significant aspects of the workshop. Many diagrams, graphs, different examples of the simulations based on practical scenario were shown to help the participants learn about PSIM and its applications. Students responded very well and performed all the tasks given to them with great enthusiasm.

Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) presented the motivational ending speech by highlighting the appliances of PSIM around the globe and also thanked the speaker as well as ESAB AIUB UF for arranging workshop of such essential scale. At the end of the event, certificate and souvenir were handed over to the instructor as a token of appreciation for making the event successful.

All the participants were provided with certificates as a mark of successful participation in the workshop by Mr. Ahmed Mortuza Saleque.
