Commemorating the 400^th birthday of English playwright William Shakespeare, Department of English, AIUB organized English Drama Performance Competition Spring 2016 on 07 March 2016. Several teams from different courses of BA in English program participated in this contest with their brilliant and spectacular performance of different scenes of Shakespeare and other contemporary plays. Scenes from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, As you Like It, King Lear and scene of “Seven Deadly Sins” from Christopher Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus were performed by the students. The teams were guided and directed by different faculty members of the Department of English. The Pro-vice Chancellor of AIUB Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva and Head of the Department of English, M Hamidul Haque were present in the event to enjoy the performances. At the end of the event the Pro-Vice Chancellor praised and motivated the performers for such performances and distributed certificates among them.
