The AIUB World Cup 2026 (Faculty Official) concluded with a memorable prize-giving ceremony celebrating the outstanding performances, sportsmanship, and achievements of faculty members throughout the tournament. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ziarat H. Khan, Deputy Director, Student Services and Welfare, AIUB, and Mr. Md. Joynal Abedin, Coordinator, Office of Sports, AIUB, who joined the celebration and congratulated the champions and individual award winners.
In a thrilling final (1-0), England emerged as the AIUB World Cup 2026 Faculty Official Champions, while Morocco finished as the Runner-up after an impressive campaign.
The tournament also recognized exceptional individual performances. Mr. Ananda Kubi was named both Player of the Final and Top Scorer of the tournament for his outstanding contribution throughout the competition. Mr. Masud Rana received the Player of the Tournament award, while Mr. Tofayel Ahmed was honored as Best Defender and Mr. Atiqul Alam Shovon as Best Goalkeeper.
The semi-final matches also produced notable individual performances. Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan was named Player of the Match in Semi-final 1, while Mr. Ananda Kubi earned the Player of the Match award in Semi-final 2.
The prize-giving ceremony marked a fitting conclusion to the Faculty Official edition of AIUB World Cup 2026, highlighting the competitive spirit, dedication, and sporting excellence demonstrated by all participating teams. The Office of Sports congratulated England, Morocco, and all award recipients for making the tournament a memorable celebration of football at AIUB.
