On Saturday, July 25, 2026, a comprehensive faculty workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) was conducted at Room DN0810 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The session aimed to strengthen faculty members' understanding of OBE principles and enhance their capacity to effectively implement OBE practices in curriculum design, course delivery, and assessment. The resource person for this workshop was Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of AIUB. Prof. Rahman shared his extensive expertise and experience on various aspects of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The workshop was also graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), whose participation underscored the Faculty's commitment to advancing quality assurance and excellence in academic practices.

The workshop commenced with a discussion on the fundamental concepts of Outcome-Based Education, providing participants with a clear understanding of its philosophy, objectives, and significance in ensuring quality assurance in higher education. This was followed by a detailed session on Course Outcome (CO) to Program Outcome (PO) Mapping, where participants explored appropriate mapping strategies, levels of contribution, and best practices for effectively aligning course outcomes with program outcomes.

A major focus of the workshop was an in-depth review of the various attributes associated with the OBE framework. The resource session covered the interpretation and application of graduate attributes, knowledge profiles, competency levels, and other essential OBE components required for effective curriculum implementation and accreditation compliance.

The workshop also introduced the concepts of the Foundation and Culmination Model, demonstrating how courses should progressively contribute to the achievement of program outcomes throughout the students' academic journey. Faculty members actively discussed methods for identifying foundational and advanced learning experiences to ensure a structured progression of student competencies across the curriculum.

The final segment of the workshop focused on different types of attainment analysis, including Course Outcome (CO) attainment, Program Outcome (PO) attainment, and methods for measuring and evaluating student performance using both direct and indirect assessment tools. Practical examples and implementation strategies were presented to help participants establish an effective Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process based on attainment results.

The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged active participation, allowing faculty members to exchange ideas, address implementation challenges, and develop a shared understanding of Outcome-Based Education practices. The session concluded with a collective commitment to organizing more advanced workshops focusing on curriculum mapping, assessment planning, and continuous quality improvement, further strengthening AIUB's Outcome-Based Education framework and reinforcing the University's commitment to academic excellence.
