EEE students take a Study Trip to Siddhirganj Power Plant

Visits to power plants are integral part of the learning process for EEE students since site visit and hands-on training are two integral parts of engineering curriculum. Visits to such plants help the students to understand the power generation process. The Department of Engineering (EEE) regularly arranges such study trips (each semester) to various plants.
This time the visit was divided in 4 days to Siddhirganj Power Plant from Sunday, May 08, 2011 to Wednesday May 11, 2011. It is a gas fuelled steam turbine power plant of capacity 210MW, where the present (derated) capacity is 200MW.
The tour was attended by Prof. M.A. Quaiyum, Registrar AIUB, Mr. Aman Uddin, Ms.Mafruha Farzana,  Mr. Dhrupad Debnath ,Mr. Ahmed Mortuza Shaleque, Mr. Taisir Shahid, Mr. Md. Nahian Al Subri Ivan, Mr. Shomendu Rohit, lecturers of EEE Department along with 180 enthusiastic students.
