EEE students at the annual IEEE Region 10 Congress 2011

Mohammad Zahidul Alam and Akramul Haque, students of EEE department, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), were invited to attend IEEE Region 10 Congress which was held in Auckland, New Zealand. They represented IEEE AIUB Student Branch at the Congress. The event commenced from 7th - 10th of July 2011. The theme this year was emerging technologies. The Congress provided great opportunities for networking amongst peers from a range of countries across the Asia Pacific Region. The event hosted a diverse array of speakers from all over the engineering discipline, Dr. Peter Staecker, BS EE MIT, MS PhD Polytech Brooklyn, Dustin Murdock, BE ME Wisc-Mad, Dr. David Budgett, BE Cant, PhD Lond just to mention a few. While their stay in New Zealand the students took part in a wide range of activities relating to their field of study including Professional Skills Workshops, Technological Seminars, Panel Discussions, Geographic Forums, Breakout Sessions and Leadership Development Seminars besides attending general lecture sessions on topics like Mechatronics, Power and Energy and Communications. Among the attendees, our two students - Mohammad Zahidul Alam and Akramul Haque also took part in the cultural night where they teamed up with other members of IEEE Bangladesh Section to showcase and share the culture of Bangladesh.
