On November 24, 2025, Ms. Sadia Tasnim Shara, a final-year undergraduate student in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), along with her team members, won the prestigious Shoktikonna Solve-A-Thon 2025 project competition under the Circular Economy category. The winning team “Team Cha-Rge” composed of 5 members from AIUB, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka University and Grameen Shakti. The project entitled “Solar-Powered E-Rickshaw Battery-as-a-Service with Circular Recycling Model” addresses Bangladesh’s critical issues of battery waste, unsafe informal charging, and environmental pollution. Shoktikonna was organized jointly by the European Union, GIZ, the World Bank, WePOWER Network and Devtale Partners to bring together young women innovators from across the country to design solutions addressing climate, energy, and sustainability challenges through a four-month long leadership training program.
