On October 1, 2026, Student from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) achieved recognition at the RURS 2nd International Conference & Research Fair 2026, held at the University of Rajshahi. Zarif Ibne Hamid, a student of the Department of EEE, AIUB, received the Best Poster Presenter Award under the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Smart Technology category for the research poster titled “An Explainable Machine Learning Framework for Multi-Hazard Climate Risk Early Warning to Support Industrial Resilience in Dhaka, Bangladesh” The research team comprised Nabajit Roy, Zarif Ibne Hamid, Arnab Barai, and Md. Arafat Rashid Chad, all students from the Department of EEE, AIUB. This research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mahfuza Khatun, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, AIUB.

This achievement reflects the students’ commitment to research and innovation and highlights AIUB’s continued emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the application of emerging technologies to address contemporary societal and environmental challenges.
